Forbes reports on 11.14.06
Hon Hai Precision Industry Co Ltd (2317.TW) has secured contracts from Apple Computer for 12 mln mobile handsets that also function as music players, the Commercial Times quoted industry sources as saying.
Apple hopes to tap into the 60 million iPod buyers each quarter to market the new iPhone. And hopefully it will fare better than the failed Motorola ROKR with iTunes.

Apple faces heavy competition from established brands like Sony Ericsson, which has a popular line of Walkman branded phones.

Will iTunes and the iPod connection be enough to make the iPhone a success?
