vs. Jeremy Clarkson tested the Audi R8 against the mighty Porsche 911 GT3. Formula One phenom, Lewis Hamilton appears on Top Gear and is interviewed by Jeremy Clarkson. On the racetrack he pilots the McLaren Mercedes MP4-23 but on the road he prefers the Mercedes GL420 Diesel with 24" rims. "It's a pimp wagon." Hamilton takes the Suzuki Liana around the Top Gear track to try and beat the Stig's time. Unfortunately it's on a wet track and the times aren't comparable.

We finally have actual footage from the world record run. Move over Buggati, here comes the Shelby Supercars Ultimate Aero TT. On a closed stretch of highway in Washington State, the Ultimate Aero posted a top speed of 257.11mph (413.83km/h) on its first pass and 254.55mph (409.71km/h) on its return pass to set the new top speed record of 255.83mph (411.76km/h). The speeds were recorded using a series of satellites and several on board sensors, with independent firm Dewetron on hand to monitor progress. Top Gear's polar special puts Jeremy Clarkson and James May in a diesel Toyota Hilux against Richard Hammond with sled dogs in a race to the magnetic North Pole. No one has ever driven to the Pole before and the crew see if the Toyota is up to the task. The company removed the superchargers but hiked displacement to 5.0 liters. The resulting output is just north of 600 hp. Based on the CC range, the CCGT has an amazingly high power-to-weight ratio, since its dry weight is just under 2,200 pounds.
